In this day and age, none of us can cope without our smartphones being fully charged and by our sides at all times. When you consider the fact that most of us use our mobiles for everything from work to paying for groceries, this is no surprise.

The Review

As we have already mentioned; although this is a relatively new idea, there are hundreds of backpacks on the market with USB charging ports, and some of them are better than others so we really weren’t sure what to expect with this one.

However, after we tested it out, we were incredibly impressed and very happy with this one from Soltra. First of all, let’s talk about the design. One of the things that impressed us so much with this backpack is how it combines style and functionality.

This backpack is available in multiple colours and it looks fantastic. The polyester material is of a really high quality and the outside of the backpack feels very rigid and sturdy. One of the things that really surprised us was how lightweight the backpack is.

At only 0.5kg it is very light indeed. Something else that we were very impressed with was the comfort levels that this backpack offers. The shoulder straps are padded very well and we didn’t notice any strain at all when using the backpack to carry a laptop.

On the inside of the laptop, you will find several different compartments. These are fantastic for storing whatever you might need along with your laptop from notepads to extra cables and everything in between.

We really liked the shock absorbent padding that has been put inside the backpack to protect laptops and we certainly found it effective. In terms of the placing of the USB port, we found that it was perfectly placed to be as accessible as possible.

The way that the backpack opens is a real plus point. You are able to open it from the side which makes it ideal for sliding your laptop out of the bag with ease. We found that this made things much easier.

The only real downside that we could note about this Soltra backpack with a USB charging port is the fact that it would benefit from some locks on the outside to add a little extra security, but these could potentially be purchased separately.

Overall, we were absolutely thrilled with this backpack and would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to carry their laptop or other electronics around with them on a regular basis.
